ExpandNo worries. We’ll be expecting you and wait patiently for your arrival. I’m late, will my appointment end later too? ExpandNo. Since our agenda is usually full, we have to start and stop on time. Your massage might be shortened if you arrive late, but we do not compromise when it comes to your relaxation. Promise. I can’t find Arigato! ExpandThe easiest way to find us is to navigate to Marnixbad on the crossroads. We’re right across the street (diagonally), more towards Haarlemmerplein, across from glass store Actief. I unfortunately have to cancel ExpandYou can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours prior to your reservation, via the link in your confirmation email. If you have to cancel later than that we are, unfortunately, always obliged to charge you. (Even when you cancel for otherwise valid reasons such as my child fell ill, I didn’t sleep well, I urgently had to go to work, my babysitter canceled or my pet is sick) I would like to reschedule my appointment ExpandOur policy for rescheduling appointments is the same as for cancellations: reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours in advance via the link in your confirmation email. Unfortunately we will have to charge for massage bookings canceled later than 24 hours in advance. I’m at your door, but nobody’s answering ExpandIt may take us a moment to get to the door, especially if we are still in the middle of an appointment. Our apologies for the inconvenience - we know you’re there and we’re getting to you as soon as possible! If you would like to change the type of massage or have any other wishes, please let us know. Can I take a shower at Arigato? ExpandUnfortunately we do not have a shower. Will I be in my own separate room? ExpandAll massages are given in private, separate rooms. Booking a massage How do I book my massage appointment? ExpandAt the moment we only take online bookings through this form. How long does a massage take? ExpandA standard treatment takes up to 50 minutes. A more extensive massage takes 80 minutes. How much does a massage cost? ExpandA 50 minute massage costs 70 euros. A longer or combined massage will cost 110 euros. For couples, duo massages are 130 for 50 minutes and 210 for 80 minutes. Can I choose my own massage therapist? ExpandWhen booking an appointment you can express your preference for one of our massage therapists. I’m allergic to nuts, what kind of oil do you use? ExpandNormally we’d use sweet almond oil by Jacob Hooij. If you have a nut allergy, we can use grape seed oil instead. We would prefer that you do not bring your own oils. I’m not sure what type of massage I want ExpandIf you prefer a massage without oil, then choose Shiatsu. If you would like to use oil, then choose the classic Western massage instead. Before treatment, we always check in with you to determine your needs, so we can always tailor your massage on the spot. Can I choose between a male and female massage therapist? ExpandYou can, but only for our pregnancy massages. In other cases, we believe gender identity shouldn’t matter. We will allow exceptions based on religious beliefs. Will insurance cover my massage treatments? ExpandUnfortunately not as we have stopped trying to explain the necessity of our massages to insurance companies 🙂 I would like a firm massage! ExpandIf you would like a massage that applies a bit more pressure, Deep Tissue massage is for you. Even if you do not have any health complaints, these firmer treatments can do a world of good. Be sure to let us know your preference beforehand and we will take them into account! How often should I get a massage? ExpandTo optimise and prolong results, we recommend stopping by once a month. In case of health problems we might advise you to book multiple treatments in one week. What type of massage is right for me? Which massage should I book? ExpandThis depends on your personal preference. In short: if you prefer a massage without oil, Shiatsu is the right type of massage for you. For a firmer massage that applies heavier pressure, try Deep Tissue. If you would like to focus on your back, neck and shoulders, we offer those types of massages too. We always aim for a tailor made experience and involve you in the process, so please feel free to share your preferences before treatment and we will optimise your massage accordingly! I changed my mind and would like a different massage ExpandNo problem! We always check in with you before we get started, so please feel free to express your needs and preferences! Can I express my preferences? ExpandWe start our massages with a short intake. Your happiness is our goal ☺ All our treatments are tailored to your needs. Is the intake a standard part of the massage? ExpandYes, the intake helps us determine your needs and expectations for your massage. Should I bring anything? ExpandNo need! Make sure you leave on time so you’ll be relaxed when you arrive. We’ll take care of the rest - you! Should I prepare for my massage? ExpandIt helps when you leave home on time so you’ll be relaxed when you arrive, and when you haven’t eaten shortly before - a massage on a full stomach can make you feel bloated. We do however advise you to avoid any potential risk in the first trimester, so if you can wait, please do so, and come see us at 12 weeks. Until when can I book a prenatal massage? A relaxation massage however can also be firm - it depends on your preferences, so let us know what you like and we’ll make it work! Do you use oil? ExpandAt Arigato, we use Jacob Hooij’s sweet almond oil. This is an additive free, non-perfumed oil. Please let us know if you have a nut allergy though, so we can use nut free oil instead. What type of massage is right for me? ExpandThat really depends on your expectations. If you are looking for a relaxing experience, our relaxation,- foot reflex- or Shiatsu massages will make you feel reborn. If you prefer a more firm type of massage, consider deep tissue treatment instead. Please feel free to contact us via email@example.com for further information- we love giving massages and we’re more than happy to talk to you about them! I threw my back out - can I please come see you immediately? ExpandWhile we understand the need for relief, we do advise you to wait 24 hours until getting a massage. If the pain is too intense, please alert a doctor first! I would like to only have my back massaged ExpandAlthough we may focus on your back during your massage, we might include your legs and feet to optimise results. If you choose the back, neck and shoulder massage, you’ll be sure to get what you need though 🙂 Do you massage hands and feet? ExpandYes we do! If you would like us to focus on these parts of your body, opt for a foot reflex massage and mention that you would like to have your hands massaged as well in your booking form.
